HOW LONG DOES EACH ANIMATION TAKE FROM START TO FINISH?

Animating art is no easy feat! The complexity of the animation depends on various factors like the number of characters, movements, special effects, and more. Typically, I animate images with 1-3 figures and strive to make everything as realistic as possible. My animations usually last around 25-30 seconds, but if you want some razzle dazzle, I can add music and audio effects to liven things up. However, this adds to the time commitment, and normal animations take about 7-14 hours to complete.

Normalmente, eu animo imagens com 1-3 figuras e esforço-me por tornar tudo o mais realista possível. As minhas animações costumam durar cerca de 25-30 segundos, mas se quiser algo mais apelativo, posso adicionar música e efeitos sonoros para dar mais vida às coisas. To start the project, I need a high-quality photo of the artwork. I then use Photoshop to improve the photo quality and separate the image into independent layers. Next, in After Effects, I move these layers, create body movements, and add special effects. Finally, I mix the animation with sound in VEGAS and add transitions and zooming to engage the viewer. Sometimes, I also add subtitles if needed.

WHICH APPS/PROGRAMS DO YOU USE?

Creating these animations is no small task, and they can't be made with simple smartphone apps. I use Photoshop, After Effects, and VEGAS to bring my creations to life. In fact, I'm always looking to improve my craft and plan on learning 3D animation in the future.

FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MAKING ART ANIMATIONS?

I may have graduated with a degree in art history in the middle of a pandemic, but that didn't stop me from diving headfirst into the wild world of animation. With no prior knowledge, I rolled up my sleeves and learned the ropes through endless YouTube tutorials, plenty of trial and error, and a whole lot of patience. It was a bumpy ride, but hey, now I'm making art that moves and shakes!

Para começar o projeto, preciso de uma foto de alta qualidade da obra de arte. Em seguida, uso o Photoshop para melhorar a qualidade da foto e separar a imagem em camadas independentes. Depois, no After Effects, movo essas camadas, crio movimentos corporais e adiciono efeitos especiais. Finalmente, misturo a animação com som no VEGAS e adiciono transições e zoom para envolver o espectador. Às vezes, também adiciono legendas se necessário.

A criação destas animações não é tarefa fácil, e não podem ser feitas com simples apps de smartphone. Eu uso o Photoshop, After Effects e VEGAS para dar vida às minhas criações. Aliás, estou sempre procurando melhorar minha técnica e planejo aprender animação 3D no futuro.

Há quanto tempo fazes animações?

Apesar de ter terminado a licenciatura em história de arte no durante a pandemia, isso não me impediu de mergulhar de cabeça no mundo da animação digital. Sem conhecimentos prévios, arregacei as mangas e aprendi tudo através de inúmeros tutoriais no YouTube, muitos erros e tentativas, e muita paciência. Foi uma jornada complicada, mas agora faço arte que se mexe e abana!
